Miriam

Moses' Sister

"Bitterness"

We are studying the life and character of Miriam out of the book titled "Women of the Bible"
by Jean E. Syswerda.  Last week we talked about Miriam's good and bad characteristics.
Like many of us Chrisitan women in the world today, Miriam faced inner battles.
After crossing the Red Sea, she led the Praise Team in worshipping God from such a
dramatic triumphant victory over their enemy.  She knew God was on their side and fighting for them. But as time goes on, she grows bitter and jealous of her Brother Moses and his position and authority.
Battles were raging in her, so she turns to her other Brother, Aaron. Misery loves company, right?
They both spoke against their Brother, Moses.
Is this what happens when our hearts are filled with anger, jealousy or hatred? We speak out or lash out against the ones that are leading us, praying for us and helping us?
Our Pastors
Our Husbands
Our Fathers

Reoccurring destructive habits or emotions that ultimately lead to our demise are strongholds.
We think about them, day and night, instead of God.

Strongholds are the devil's methods, wiles or schemes to defeat us.  But
God has equipped us to fight against these strongholds in our minds.

We can form a plan!
Find all the scripture you can that pertain to the feelings or emotions you are dealing with.
Pray them out loud to God. Fervently!
Claim the victory over them and start living Phil. 4:8
